PREMIAIR Racing has pulled the pin on its plan to relocate closer to Brisbane and is instead refurbishing its Gold Coast headquarters.

While the drag racing side of the PremiAir organisation has called Darra home in Brisbane’s southwest, its Supercars operation has been based out of Arundel since mid-2022.

A move to the Yatala/Stapylton region whereby Matt Stone Racing and Dick Johnson Racing are positioned had been investigated, but PremiAir has now committed to staying truly Gold Coast.

“We’re doing a major refurbishment at the moment on the existing building, and that’s actually going on as we speak whilst the main cars and infrastructure are on the water or in New Zealand,” team principal Roland Dane told V8 Sleuth.

The Undercut is back for 2026, with Aaron Noonan once again joined by Jack Perkins and James Moffat, breaking down a massive start to the new motorsport season!

Dane was coy on the exact nature of the works, but indicated it will be a high priority for the circa two-month period where cars are away (i.e. the by-sea voyages across the Tasman either side of next month’s New Zealand doubleheader).

“When it’s finished, we’ll demonstrate what it looks like,” he said.

“We can do the guts of it whilst the cars are away,” Dane added of the timeline.

PremiAir will head to Queensland Raceway on Monday March 30 for a Jayden Ojeda rookie test, utilising its spare Camaro that powered James Golding and David Russell to a Bathurst 1000 podium last year.
