GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Men’s Tennis will face the No. 15 ranked Oklahoma Sooners and the North Carolina A&T Aggies on Sunday, March 29 in the team’s second doubleheader of the season. The Sooners will be the Gators first competition, playing at 11:30 a.m. with the Aggies following up at 5 p.m. EST.  

The Gators enter the weekend ranked at No. 21 by the ITA, with four players being ranked in singles and one doubles pairing being ranked in the top-25. Florida’s Pablo Perez Ramos comes in at No. 45, Henry Jefferson is ranked at No. 59, Adhithya Ganesan is No. 72 and Jeremy Jin follows up at No. 91 in the country. For doubles, Tanapatt Nirundorn and Jefferson are the only doubles pair ranked for the Gators and come in at No. 22.

Recapping the Weekend

Florida went 2-0 last weekend, with road wins over Alabama and Tennessee. The Gators defeated the Crimson Tide 4-2 and took a 4-0 win over the Volunteers. Every player walked away with a win in singles, with Lorenzo Claverie earning a ranked win over No. 109 Andrii Zimnokh from Alabama and Ganesan taking a win over No. 106 Jose Garcia of Tennessee.

Oklahoma Observations
Oklahoma ranks at N0. 15 by the ITA with a 13-5 season record and a 5-4 conference record. The team is on a three-match win streak heading into the weekend, including a win over top-ranked Texas. The Sooners have three ranked doubles pairings with No. 12 Bruno Nhavene/Luis Carlos Alvarez Valdes, No. 37 Alejandro Melero/Hank Trondson and No. 82 Orel Kimhi/Johan Alexander Rodriguez. The team also holds four singles players ranked with No. 37 Luis Carlos Alvarez Valdes, No. 58 Oscar Lacides, No. 86 Orel Kimhi and No. 108 Johan Alexander Rodriguez.

NC A&T Insights

This will be the first time in program history the Gators will face the North Carolina A&T Aggies. The Aggies come into the weekend with a 10-6 record for the season and a road record of 2-3. Their team is consisting of four freshmen and one representative from each of the remaining classes (sophomore, junior and senior).
