Kimi Antonelli finished FP3 for the Japanese Grand Prix at the top of the timing sheets, getting the better of Mercedes team-mate George Russell by +0.254.

Charles Leclerc rounded out the top three in the final free practice session at Suzuka, ahead of Oscar Piastri and Lewis Hamilton in the second Ferrari.

Piastri will face a post-session investigation for potentially impeding Nico Hulkenberg into 130R early in the hour.

Meanwhile, McLaren team-mate Lando Norris suffered another interrupted practice session, with a battery issue on his MCL40 keeping him from venturing out on track until past the halfway point — particularly damaging given the hydraulic leak he had in FP2.

The reigning drivers’ champion was able to go sixth fastest, ahead of the impressive Nico Hulkenberg.

FP3 reconfirmed Red Bull’s lack of pace, with Max Verstappen down in eighth. Isack Hadjar could only go P11.
