Britain’s Got Talent came to a standstill after KSI was left utterly astonished when an unexpected act graced the ITV stage – leaving both the judging panel and the audience speechless.

The boxer-turned-judge struggled to compose himself when Moldova’s internet sensation – the Epic Sax Guy – emerged and launched into his legendary performance. KSI exclaimed: “Oh my God, I thought I recognised this guy. Oh my God, this is crazy.”

As the act commenced, he yelled: “What!” while Alesha pressed her buzzer, before declaring: “It is, yes, oh my God, it’s Epic Sax Guy!”

The situation intensified dramatically when footage of KSI himself – clad in a gold jumpsuit imitating the performer – flashed up on the large screen during the performance. KSI remarked: “That’s me, oh my God, this is an honour.”

Following the act, KSI leapt from his seat to embrace the performer while a bewildered Alesha enquired: “I don’t understand what’s happening here. Tell us what’s going on?” KSI clarified: “That’s me in the video! I was inspired by this guy. I saw him do the epic [performs a hip thrust], and I wanted to implement that in my video.”

The performer responded: “Our video went so viral.” Once back in his seat, KSI announced: “The easiest yes from me, you absolute legend.” He then appealed to a hesitant Simon Cowell: “How about for the next round I perform with him?”

“In that outfit?” Simon enquired. “Yes” KSI confirmed. Simon then responded: “Ok. It’s a yes then. I’m looking forward to this.”

During another segment of the episode, the fifth Golden Buzzer of the series was awarded – on this occasion by presenters Ant and Dec – as the current batch of auditions produced another memorable performance, reports the Express.

The presenting pair were left doubled over with laughter by comic Ted Hill, whose creative routine merged polished presentation-style graphics with snappy, rapid-fire gags.

Combining his experience fronting science programmes for youngsters with keen observational wit, Hill had both the crowd and judging panel roaring with laughter – leading Ant and Dec to press the Golden Buzzer and secure his place in the next round.

Hill’s comedy leans heavily on personal experience, with material examining his journey with autism and ADHD, as well as his specialist interests spanning everything from American presidents to charts and cartography. This distinctive approach has already secured him a dedicated fanbase, with several Edinburgh Fringe performances and a well-received stint at Soho Theatre to his name.

Those tuning in from home were swift to applaud the choice, with one viewer writing: “Absolutely hilarious and deserving of the golden buzzer!” Another commented: “Deserved that buzzer… I thought he was great… unique”, while a third remarked: “I loved that audition. He’s really funny.”

Nevertheless, the decision didn’t win universal approval, with one detractor complaining: “The Golden Buzzer literally means nothing anymore. What happened to acts who actually deserved it? It’s just given out to anyone like sweets nowadays.”

Ted becomes the latest addition to an expanding roster of Golden Buzzer recipients this series. Simon Cowell kicked things off by selecting Australian para-athlete Paul Nunnari, whose remarkable wheelchair performances left the judges speechless.

KSI subsequently chose 16-year-old magician Rafferty Coope, while Alesha Dixon threw her support behind groundbreaking act Antigravity, and Amanda Holden opted for a 34-strong choir comprised entirely of British farmers.

Britain’s Got Talent airs Saturdays at 6.45pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
