The Ibrox striker has been a key man for his country for years but his club form has cost him

Rangers’ Bojan Miovski

Upset Bojan Miovski was allowed to go home because he was furious at being dropped, North Macedonia boss Goce Sedloski has revealed.

The Rangers striker has been a key man for his country for years but was reduced to a sub role in their 4-0 World Cup play-off hammering in Denmark. He only got on when his nation was three goals down and made his feelings known to new manager Goce Sedloski after the game.

North Macedonia now have a meaningless friendly between fellow play-off losers Ireland in Dublin and Rangers reportedly requested the return of their striker, who has a bit-part role these days at Ibrox. And Sedlosk – the first-ever player to have won 100 caps for North Macedonia and who was only appointed in January – revealed he had no problems releasing Miovski and Lokomotiva Zagreb forward Aleksandar Trajkovski, who didn’t get on the pitch.

He explained: “Bojan Miovski was not happy that he did not start, but it must be accepted that there are 23 players in the national team and no one is guaranteed a place in the starting lineup, Aleksandar Trajkovski was also unhappy, but at this moment, I believe that he is not physically at the level necessary to meet the demands of such a match. There is no reason for anyone to feel offended.”

Miovski has scored nine goals for his country and won his 38th cap in Copenhagen.
