Fiery Raiders prop Corey Horsburgh added another sin bin to his career tally in the first four minutes against the Sharks at GIO Stadium.

Early in the match, the Sharks received a penalty before Nicho Hynes took a quick tap with Horsburgh dropping him on his back despite not making it back 10 metres.

Sharks and Raiders players then came together in a melee but referee Grant Atkins didn’t hesitate and immediately sent Horsburgh to the bin.

“He looks a little bit emotional today, Big Red,” Andrew Johns said on Nine’s coverage.

“Watch when he comes back out, 10 metres of red mist in the dressing room. He’s fired up the big boy.”

Johns noted Horsburgh was standing next to the referee and may have thought that was the 10 metres. However, Atkins had not gone back 10 metres himself.

The absence of Horsburgh helped the Sharks go to a 12-0 lead with tries to Teig Wilton and KL Iro.

Horsburgh’s return sparked the Raiders into gear with Kaeo Weekes finishing off a brilliant Xavier Savage linebreak to earn the side’s first points.

Both teams went try-for-try from there, with Billy Burns scoring for the Sharks followed by Raiders forward Hudson Young.

The Sharks had an 18-12 lead at half-time.

Canberra landed the first try after the break through Savelio Tamale but it wasn’t converted.

Samuel Stonestreet hit back for the Sharks, but in the 57th minute scores were tied at 22-22 after Xavier Savage’s effort.

The Sharks surged from there via Will Kennedy, Jesse Colquhoun and a late penalty goal from Hynes to seal a 34-22 win.
