Limited-edition drops are everywhere at this time of year, but this collaboration with Akshay Bhatia feels more considered than most – and a lot more wearable beyond one week.
This is the most exciting time of the year for golfers. The weather is improving, the courses are waking up, the evenings are stretching out, and the first major of the season is suddenly right around the corner.
And, naturally, golf brands want in on it.
Limited-edition drops have become part of the major build-up. Some overdo it. Some feel like they’re just going through the motions. But TravisMathew have got this one just right.
Their ‘Our Favorite Time of Year’ collection, created with Akshay Bhatia, doesn’t try too hard to reinvent anything. It just feels a bit more considered than most of the usual major-related releases.
Because, let’s be honest, we’ve all seen the formula by now.
Seasonal greens, a few floral nods, something that quietly (or not so quietly) points towards that one special week in April. It’s become its own genre of golf apparel.
The TravisMathew drop sits in that space, but it doesn’t feel stuck in it.
There’s a bit more personality running through the collection, and that probably comes from Bhatia’s input. The “Louder Please” detail dotted across some of the pieces is a good example – it’s a small touch, but one that gives the whole thing a bit of attitude. A reminder that golf’s biggest stage doesn’t always have to come with a reserved golf clap.

The range itself is pretty extensive, too. You’re looking at everything from polos and outerwear to tees, trousers, headwear, footwear, and accessories – all built around those soft green tones and subtle azalea-inspired details that instantly tie it back to the week.
But this isn’t one of those collections that feels like it only works for a single week.
The polos are what you’d expect – clean, lightweight, easy to throw into any rotation – but it’s the way the outfits are pulled together that stands out. Coupling them with joggers like the OTC 2.0 in softer tones gives everything a more relaxed, athletic edge without losing that polished look golfers still want.
It reflects where the game has been heading for a while now. Less rigid, a bit more expressive, but still rooted in the traditions that make certain weeks feel special.
And that balance is hard to get right.
A lot of brands either lean too heavily into heritage or go too far the other way trying to be different. This sits somewhere in between. It respects the moment, nods to it in all the right ways, but still feels like something you’d actually want to wear for the rest of the year.
And it’s clear this wasn’t just a case of sticking Bhatia in the campaign and calling it a day.
“Playing in a major is something that never gets old for me,” he said. “It means a lot every time I tee it up. Working with TravisMathew has been awesome. They understand my style and how I want to look and feel while competing. We created pieces that not only look great but perform when it matters most. This collection captures the energy I feel around the tournament, and I’m excited to wear it all week.”
The 2026 Masters gnome has been revealed – but could this be the last one?
