HANNIBAL — The Hannibal boys tennis team has split its last two matches, defeating Marshall on Saturday and falling to Father Tolton on Monday.
The Pirates defeated North Central Missouri Conference foe Marshall 6-3 in Saturday’s road match, despite being down three starters (No. 4 through No. 6) due to district choir and band competition.
Pirates No. 1 Zane Lomax defeated Marshall’s Jace Knott 8-3 in the first singles match.
Hannibal’s Logan Allgood defeated Marshall’s Aleksander Simic 8-6 in the No. 2 singles match.
Pirates No. 3 Braiden Mickels defeated Marshall’s Whit Thomas in the third singles match.
Marshall’s Viktor Median defeated Hannibal’s Landon McDonald in the No. 4 singles match.
In the No. 5 singles match, Marshall’s Lane Boyer defeated Hannibal’s Hudson Groth.
Hannibal’s Jett Parker defeated Marshall’s Jayden Vera 8-0 in the No. 6 singles match.
The Hannibal No.1 doubles team of Lomax and Mickels defeated Marshall’s duo of Knott and Simic 8-3.
In the No. 2 doubles match, Marshall’s duo of Thomas and Media defeated Hannibal’s Allgood and Groth 8-3.
The Hannibal No. 3 doubles team of McDonald and Parker defeated Marshall’s Boyer and Vera 8-4.
Father Tolton defeated Hannibal 8-1 on Monday afternoon at Hannibal.
Lomax defeated Father Tolton’s Ethan Odle 8-3 in the No. 1 singles match for the lone Pirates’ win on Monday.
Up next for Hannibal (2-2) is a home match against Macomb at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
