An Australian mum of three and social media influencer is on a mission to “spread love and gratitude” while the nation grapples with a fuel crisis by paying for strangers’ tanks of fuel.

Kathryn Denny, known for sharing realistic lifestyle content as a parent to a young, non-verbal son, is using her online platform as an influencer to help those less fortunate than her.

The Queenslander took to her social media to share the moment she paid for an elderly woman’s tank of fuel as an act of kindness in a time of crisis, as the war in the Middle East rages on.

“Some people complain about fuel prices and some people do not realise what a privilege it is not to complain about the fuel prices,” she said in a TikTok video.

“This is why I hate referring to myself as an influencer, but I want to remind you that not every influencer is like this.

“I’m going to go fuel up my car. I’m also going to pay for the car behind me.

“I hope it goes to someone in need.”

Denny, who is also a makeup artist, chose to pay for a “cute” elderly woman’s full tank, who appeared “confused as hell” after she realised the good deed.

The lady hugged Denny and called her kind gesture “beautiful”.

“That was the most heartwarming feeling, I’m so glad that I paid for her,” Denny said in the video after getting back inside her car.

“She said that made her day, but she made my day as well.”

With her spirits lifted, Denny extended her act of kindness to her followers and supporters.

“I want to pay for someone else’s fuel as well who follows me and supports me, someone who genuinely needs it,” she said.

Denny said she will pick someone from TikTok and Instagram “who really needs it and could do with a full tank” to gift a fuel voucher.

“I just want to spread the love and the gratitude because I’m aware of my privilege as an influencer, but I’m also aware that it’s only because of you guys, and I’ll always try and get back where I can and never take it for granted,” she said.

The comments section of Denny’s post was flooded with fans sharing their stories of hardship and asking to be considered for the extra financial support.

Others praised the content creator for her helping hand.

“What you’re doing is honestly so kind,” one follower said.

Another follower said: “Ahh we made the right person an influencer 🥺🥺 we love you girl! This is beautiful”.

“Girly you are so beautiful & such an amazing mum ❤️. I hope this inspires more people that can, to do something kind for others,” a third added.
