Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight title challenger Renato Moicano returns to action this weekend (Sat., April 4, 2026), taking on surging Scottish standout Chris Duncan in the main event of UFC Vegas 115 inside the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
What makes this matchup unique? Both fighters share the same home gym.
Moicano and Duncan train out of the legendary American Top Team — one of the biggest and most talent-rich camps in all of MMA — which naturally created an unusual dynamic heading into fight week.
Instead, things got… complicated.
“The gym — I’m not going to say was divided, but some guys that helped him were not training with me and some guys that helped me weren’t helping him,” Moicano told Full Send MMA. “At the end of the day, we’re fighting each other. How can you train with both guys? But at the same time, some guys were training with both Chris and me. So, it was kind of confusing. This is a sport. I don’t hate him. I have nothing against him — it’s just a sport.”
It’s a delicate balance, but not unheard of at a gym as massive as ATT, where multiple elite fighters often prepare for overlapping fights.
Duncan is no stranger to that dynamic, either.
For context, Moicano has been part of ATT since around 2017, while Duncan joined the gym after earning his UFC contract on Contender Series in late 2022.
Despite the shared training room — and the occasional awkwardness that comes with it — both men are promising fireworks.
With Moicano’s No. 10 ranking on the line and Duncan looking to break into the Top 10, there’s plenty at stake — teammate or not.
