Tottenham Hotspur face Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup final next Wednesday, and the French champions could be without a key player.
The Parisians only returned to training last Wednesday following an extended summer break, having been involved in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Meanwhile, Thomas Frank’s team have already managed six pre-season friendlies and Spurs will be hoping to make that count in Udine.
The French giants could be missing a big player from their squad on Thursday, with his future at the Parc des Princes currently uncertain.

Gianluigi Donnarumma could be left out of Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Super Cup final squad against Tottenham Hotspur, according to Sky Sport.
The Italian’s contract situation with PSG remains unresolved, and the European champions have just signed Lucas Chevalier from Lille.
Several Premier League clubs wanted Chevalier before his move to PSG. Chevalier was a player Tottenham looked at, amid concerns over Guglielmo Vicario.
The 23-year-old could now make his first appearance for Luis Enrique’s team against Spurs, with Donnarumma set to be left out of the squad.
TBR Football understands that Man United are targeting Donnarumma, with Andre Onana’s future at Old Trafford still up in the air.
Donnarumma, who’s been called ‘phenomenal’, was key in PSG’s run to claiming their first European crown back in June.
The 26-year-old kept 17 clean sheets last season in Paris, which includes five in seven games at the FIFA Club.
PSG being without the 2025 Ballon d’Or nominee is a big boost for Spurs’ hopes of clinching their first Super Cup title.
Thomas Frank must make key Tottenham signing before Super Cup final
But Tottenham are facing issues of their own following James Maddison’s ACL injury, who is now set to miss the majority of the new season.
The North Londoners are now without a creative midfield option, as the 28-year-old has joined Dejan Kulusevski on the sidelines.
TBR Football understands that Tottenham are adamant they want a new midfielder and are working to bring one to the club.
