Known as ‘Nifty’, Glover represented New South Wales and Australia during his nine-year career between 1975 and 1983.

The former winger played in 134 games, with 121 of those as an Eel.
In 2001, Glover was named in Parramatta’s ‘Team of the Century’ – a fair achievement given the amount of talent that wore the blue and gold during the club’s heyday.
Following his glittering playing career, Glover became a police officer and senior prosecutor.
“Neville was as good a bloke as you will ever meet and was just as good a player,” former Eels teammate Peter Wynn said.
“It’s a sad day for the club.”
An infamous moment Glover is well-known for occurred during the Eels’ 1976 grand final loss to Manly.
Late in the game, Glover couldn’t reel in a pass from teammate John Moran just in front of the Manly line with the Eels trailing the Sea Eagles 11-10.
Later in life, Glover revealed that he was often still reminded of the near miss years earlier.
Code Sports have reported that the Eels will honour Glover during the Easter Monday showdown with the Tigers.

TE’O’S CHANCE FOR PRIZED GIG AFTER MADGE BUST-UP
Former Broncos assistant coach Ben Te’o may not be out of a job for long amid reports he’s held discussions with Billy Slater.
As per Code Sports, Te’o has been in talks with the Maroons coach over a possible assistant role for the coming series and potentially beyond following his dramatic Broncos exit.
Following a verbal stoush with Michael Maguire, Te’o resigned last week in a shock development given he was an integral part of the Broncos’ 19-year premiership drought breaker and had only recently inked an extension.
With former Queensland assistant Josh Hannay now the man at the helm on the glitter strip, there is a position open on Slater’s coaching staff.
Slater approached Te’o during the off-season but a potential spot on the Maroons’ coaching staff while under contract with Brisbane reportedly caused some consternation between Te’o and Maguire.

The Broncos essentially told Te’o he couldn’t fulfil a position with Queensland while on Maguire’s staff given another Brisbane assistant in Matt Ballin was committed to Slater and the Maroons during the busy Origin period.
It’s uncertain if Te’o is plotting an NRL return this season but he has been linked to Souths, however Bunnies coach Wayne Bennett gave those rumours short shrift this week.
“I have nothing to do with this issue,” Bennett said.
“I have a coaching staff down here that are great guys. I’ve got staff here who do a great job so all this talk has come out of nowhere.”
STAR’S SOLUTION TO STAMPING OUT SUSPECT TACKLE AMID EELS DOUBLE BLOW
Eels skipper Mitch Moses has joined the chorus of voices to admit their confusion with how a hip drop tackle is officiated.
Parramatta have been dealt a double blow early in the season with two of their stars in J’maine Hopgood (season – ACL) and Isaiah Iongi (eight weeks – ankle) picking up serious injuries from hip drop tackles.
Both incidents resulted in suspensions to Ryan Couchman and Mitch Kenny respectively.
You could sense the frustration when Moses spoke to the media about the injuries on Thursday, believing there’s one way which will significantly help reduce hip drop tackles.

“I don’t know how they rule it, I don’t know what their thought is around a hip drop. It hasn’t really been clear,” Moses said.
It’s an illegal move but you can’t really stop it in today’s game. They’re going to happen, those things are going to happen at full pace, fast, people getting dragged down.
“You can’t do it, but it’s going to happen, it’s a part of the game.
“If you want to keep quickening up the game and making it lightning fast and these one man tackles, two man tackles, it’s going to happen.
“You can’t stop it. The way the game is, it’s really fast and lightning quick and that’s the way the NRL want it to be and that’s how the fans want it to be, but these injuries are going to happen from these tackles.
“We can’t stop it unless you slow down the game.”
The Eels will be aiming to record their third win of the season when they take on the Tigers in the yearly Easter Monday showcase.
