The Astros slugging third-baseman will miss at least three games.
HOUSTON — The Astros will be without slugging third baseman Isaac Paredes for at least the weekend series with the Athletics.  The team announced on Friday that he was being placed on the bereavement list.
Paredes is being replaced on the roster by Shay Whitcomb, who’s being called up from the AAA Sugar Land Space Cowboys.
According to MLB, players who are placed on the bereavement list must be out for a minimum of three games and a maximum of seven.
Through the first seven games of the season, Paredes is batting .227 with five RBIs.
The Astros are in first place in the American League West with a 5-2 record as they start a nine-game road trip against the Athletics, Rockies, and Mariners.
