We have NBA picks and predictions for Wednesday, April 8th, which features the Mavericks vs. Clippers, Thunder vs. Lakers, and Rockets vs. Suns.
Our picks include a best bet and NBA same game multi, and we’re looking forward to the NBA action this week.
Mavericks vs. Clippers Best BetMavericks +10.5 @ $1.90
The Mavericks played well to beat the Lakers on Monday, and with Cooper Flagg trying to secure the Rookie of the Year title, the Mavericks are playing better for him.
Flagg could be a generational talent, and although the Clippers have some quality players, Flagg is taking the NBA by storm after dropping 51 and 45 points in his last two games. He could be enough to get them over the line and at least cover the +10.5 spread.
The Clippers have only one win from their last three games. The pressure is on to make a playoff push, and the Clippers are historically poor when the pressure goes on.
Mavericks vs. Clippers SGMMavericks +10.5, Cooper Flagg Over 26.5 Points, Kawhi Leonard Under 28.5 Points, Over 236.5 Points @ $9.00
Flagg has been electric in his last two games, and the roll could continue Wednesday. He is making a strong push for ROTY honours, and we believe he should win. We have him scoring over 26.5 points against the Clippers.
The line is set high for Kawhi Leonard, who comes off totals of 28, 20, 23, 24, and 26 points. He hasn’t scored over 28.5 points in the last two weeks, so take the under.
Over 236.5 points is worth including as they combined for 269 in their latest meeting.
Thunder vs. Lakers Best BetThunder –14.5 @ $1.90
The Thunder keep rolling with recent wins over the Knicks, Pistons, and against this Lakers team. They won 139-96 against the Lakers last week, and our NBA picks expect a similar score.
It will be tough for the Lakers to win games without Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves. They need LeBron James to take over, and although he had 30 points against the Mavericks, it wasn’t enough to get the win, which is a big concern.
We can’t see the Thunder letting up in this situation, as they look to hold off the Spurs for the top spot in the Western Conference. Covering the –14.5 spread shouldn’t be too hard for a team putting up big numbers.
Thunder vs. Lakers SGMThunder –14.5, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 30.5 Points, LeBron James Over 23.5 Points, Over 222.5 Points @ $8.50
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored only 20 points last time on court, but he has recent totals of 47 and 30 points. It all depends on how many minutes he plays, but we expect him to play a good chunk of the game against the Lakers.
James dropped 30 points in the loss to the Mavericks, so the 23.5-point line is lower than expected. He’s their only top-class scoring threat, and he could take over the offence in fine style.
There should be plenty of points on display, so include over 222.5 points in NBA multis this week.
Rockets vs. Suns Best BetRockets @ $1.89
The Rockets are enjoying a winning streak, which isn’t too common for them. Despite scoring some good recent wins, there hasn’t been much enthusiasm with NBA odds at $1.89.
They are the slight favourites over the Suns, but we expect the odds to have Houston at around $1.65, so we’re snapping up the value for a team that battled well against Steph Curry and the Warriors on Monday afternoon.
We don’t trust the Suns to come up with the goods, so look past the market trepidation and include the Rockets in NBA multi picks.
Rockets vs. Suns SGMRockets H2H, Kevin Durant Over 25.5 Points, Devin Booker Over 26.5 Points, Over 219.5 Points @ $8.50
We expect big scoring nights from Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. Durant comes off a 31-point performance against the Warriors, and he’s nearing his best as the playoffs approach.
Booker had 30 points against the Bulls in a 120-110 win. He is their most reliable scorer, in what should be a high-scoring game in Phoenix.
The 219.5-point line is much shorter than expected. We had the line at 230.5 points, so the over is an excellent NBA multi pick.
