The Abilene Christian women’s tennis team has taken the WAC player of the week awards for both singles and doubles as announced by the conference on Tuesday.

Masha Vrsalovic and Maria Cascos are the WAC Doubles Players of the Week for the second time this season. Vrsalovic was also named the WAC Singles Player of the Week for a third time.

The Wildcats defeated UT Arlington 4-0 last Wednesday with Vrsalovic and Cascos quickly earning a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles. The pair have won five of their last seven matches together. The two were also among ACU’s four seniors honored during a Senior Day ceremony.

At the singles top-line, Vrasalovic earned a straight-sets victory, 6-1, 6-1. 

This marks the second time for Cascos and Vrsalovic to be named the WAC Doubels Players of the Week

ACU, which has an 8-11 overall record this spring, plays two more regular season matches before the WAC Team Tennis Championships on April 17-18 in Arlington. The Wildcats visit North Texas on Thursday at 3 p.m., and Tarleton State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
