A surprising new name has been tossed into the competition for the new James Bond.
Most lists have focused on a handful of big names, including Henry Cavill, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James, and Tom Holland, to step into 007’s shoes.
The latest addition to the speculation is Tom Hopper, of The Umbrella List.
Tom Hopper Said He Considers Playing James Bond to Be the ‘Pinnacle Goal’
Hopper was asked about the talk on Andy Cohen’s podcast.
“Your name has shown up on lists for who should be the next James Bond,” Cohen said, and Hooper indicated that he was thrilled.
“The thing is, James Bond for any British actor is like the pinnacle goal, you know, so to even be in a list to be considered, I find that an honor in itself really, so yeah. If the call ever comes, I’ll have a conversation,” Hopper responded.

Hopper is also starring on the prequel Terminal List: Dark Wolf on Amazon Prime. According to Movie Web, that movie could serve as a “James Bond audition” of sorts for Hopper.
According to his IMDb profile, Hopper has also appeared on Game of Thrones and Northmen: A Viking Saga. He was born in 1985 in England.
The new James Bond will step into the shoes of Daniel Craig, who took the character into a rougher-around-the-edges direction. Steven Knight, of Peaky Blinders fame, will write the script for the movie.
Dune (2021) director Denis Villeneuve is directing the movie. The casting choice has not been announced yet.
Actors Henry Golding and Aaron Pierre have also been mentioned for the role. In addition, actor Callum Turner is currently leading betting odds for the role, according to The Scotsman, so Hopper has a lot of competition.
