The AFL has launched an investigation into an incident during Sydney’s win over Brisbane on Saturday at the Gabba.

Although no complaints were made by the Swans player, the incident involved the possible inappropriate touching by a Lions player towards his opponent.

It’s understood the incident was initially viewed through a Match Review Officer lens, before it was elevated to the AFL Integrity Unit.

The Integrity Unit has been in contact with Brisbane and Sydney on Monday to determine its next course of action.

Sydney declined to comment when contacted on Monday, while Brisbane did not return calls.

9News and Wide World of Sports have chosen not to name the players involved given the sensitivities around the incident and the delicate nature of the investigation.
