Liverpool are heading for a dismal end to the season after their latest 2-0 defeat away at Paris Saint-Germain.
It’s been a horrid campaign for the Merseyside club, but the Champions League was a chance for them to grasp a silver lining from the season.
Although the tie is far from over, the manner of the defeat will be disappointing to the Liverpool hierarchy, failing to register a shot on target, while PSG were perhaps unfortunate not to score more.
That means it’s now five defeats in a row on the road for Liverpool, and if their form continues like this, they are going to end the season without a trophy and may even fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Liverpool are likely to wait until the end of the season to make a decision on Slot, but they might be forced to make a change as soon as possible.

Liverpool Need to Sack Slot ASAP

Liverpool need to make the decision to sack Slot right now, rather than wait until the end of the season.
The Reds’ only goal right now should be qualifying for the Champions League, but there’s every chance they fail to do so if their form continues.
FSG need to axe Slot now before it’s too late, just to hopefully receive a ‘new manager bounce’ to get them over the line and qualify for Europe.
There’s no point wasting time, as it’s clear that Slot is on thin ice and is unlikely to be in charge next season.
The fans are turning on the manager, and it’s only heading one way, so there’s little reason for them to continue.
Liverpool Set to Move for Alonso

Xabi Alonso, described as ‘elite’, has been out of work since leaving Real Madrid earlier in the season, but he’s been heavily linked with a move to Anfield.
According to Football Insider, Alonso is the favourite to take over, and Liverpool are set to make the move to appoint him, whether that be now or in the summer.
“Now, Xabi Alonso, to me, is still the favourite to take over. I think the dream of Jurgen coming back is a bit of a big dream, but it would obviously be the go-to fantastic solution that would perk the Liverpool fans up.
“They’re going to have to get used to Xabi Alonso and I do think that will be the move that will be made.”
Liverpool have been handed the perfect chance to appoint him, with reports claiming that he’s ready to get back into management, so FSG need to get it done.
