Scottie Scheffler will be without regular caddie Ted Scott by his side for the final round of the 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis.
Scott had to return home for a private family matter, according to a social media post by the PGA Tour. It stated that Brad Payne will fill-in for Scott. This isn’t the first time that Payne has been on the bag for Scheffler. He stepped in last year for the third round of the PGA Championship at Valhalla when Scott was given the day off to attend his daughter’s high school graduation.

Scheffler tied the low round of the day on Saturday with a 65 at TPC Southwind. He enters the final round at 12-under 198, two shots behind leader Tommy Fleetwood and one back of Justin Rose. He’s scheduled to tee off alongside 2025 U.S. Open Champion J.J. Spaun at 1:30 p.m. ET. Scheffler’s finished inside the top 10 in 12 straight starts, and is seeking his fifth win of the season.
Scott has been on the bag for all 17 of Scheffler’s Tour wins since they began working together in late 2021.
Payne is the president of College Golf Fellowship and has caddied for multiple players over the year. He played his college golf at Pepperdine.
