THE application of orange numbers for championship leader Brodie Kostecki isn’t the only change to the appearance of the Shell V-Power Racing Mustangs this weekend.
While Dick Johnson Racing has refrained from a wholesale livery change like last year, when it ran in Jet Couriers colours at Taupō, there is a small tweak that has popped up on the front corners of both Kostecki and Rylan Gray’s Fords.
Suck It Up.
It’s not necessarily a message to rivals though; rather the sign of a Kiwi brand coming aboard.
The hydro-excavation company is fittingly based near Christchurch, which will next week make its debut on the Supercars calendar via Ruapuna Raceway.
Kostecki leads the overall standings after his Albert Park heroics, marking the first time DJR has been in that position since Scott McLaughlin sealed his third and final championship in 2020 – after which he headed abroad to IndyCar.
No two-car team has accrued more points from the first two Supercars events at Taupō than DJR.
The Stapylton squad is due to celebrate its 1100th championship race this weekend.
