Spectators will gain free admission to the Football Ferns’ FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier in Hamilton after the series’ semi-finals were brought forward by 24 hours.
Both semi-finals at FMG Stadium Waikato will have free admission with the games kicking off at 12-noon and 4pm on Saturday April 11, 2026.
The decision to reschedule the matches was taken in light of severe weather warnings for Sunday as a result of Cyclone Vaianu.
Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) announced the change, after consultation with New Zealand Football, the Hamilton City Council and the stadium.
Fans looking to attend do not need to book a ticket in advance, they can just arrive at the stadium.
All tickets booked for the original match day will be refunded by Ticketek.
Papua New Guinea will play American Samoa in the first semi-final, followed by New Zealand’s match against Fiji.
The winners of the semi-finals will meet in the series final at North Harbour Stadium, Auckland, on Wednesday April 15, with the winner qualifying to represent Oceania at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
Lisa Jones, NZ Football’s general manager competitions and international events, said: “It is very rare to move games like this, but we completely support this decision by OFC.
“From the advice we have been given, we strongly feel this is the best option to allow the fixtures to be played and to ensure the safety of everyone attending the matches.
“With a considerable number of people looking to attend the games, this is a decision we wanted made as early as possible to ensure we didn’t have people travelling in potentially dangerous conditions.
“We now look forward to two great semi-finals being played on Saturday ahead of next week’s final in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.”

Tickets are on general sale for the third round final to be staged in Auckland.
You can buy tickets for the series final at North Harbour Stadium.
For the series final in Albany, prices are $22.50 (adult) and $5 (children aged 3-14).
