Pies dominating inside-50s
As we approach the midway point of the first quarter, the Magpies are on top when it comes to inside-50s.
They lead the count 9-2 and should have more to show than a 1.1 return at this stage of the match.
Patrick Voss marked to give the Dockers their second inside-50, but his shot on goal went left and through for a behind.

The Magpies open the scoring, with Tim Membrey on target from a set-shot.
Showing patience, the Magpies moved the ball up field to find Membrey virtually unmarked inside 50.
He made no mistake with his shot to give the Pies an early advantage.

Can the Magpies rebound from last week’s loss?
Or will the Dockers make it four straight wins?
26m agoFri 10 Apr 2026 at 9:36amIt’s raining in Adelaide
The heavens opened when Gather Round began on Thursday night.
And the weather is almost as foul this evening, with rain sweeping across Adelaide Oval before easing off as the two teams completed their preparations.
Expect the pill to be extra slippery tonight.

Nick Daicos and Scott Pendlebury return for the Magpies after missing the Lions encounter with injury.
Daicos was a late withdrawal at the Gabba last week due to a corked calf, having began the warm-up before he was scratched.
Pendlebury returns from Achilles tightness.
And rounding out their ‘ins’, mature-age recruit Angus Anderson has been named to make his debut.

Gather Round continues

It’s the Dockers who enter tonight’s clash as the higher-placed team on the ladder.
Justin Longmuir’s troops have a 3-1 win-loss record to sit in fourth place.
The Dockers have won three straight and are coming off a two-point triumph over the Crows at the same venue they play the Magpies.
Speaking of the Magpies, it’s been a mixed start to the season.
They’re 2-2 to be 11th on the ladder.
The Magpies arrived in Adelaide on the back of a 54-point thumping dished out by the Lions last round.
But they do have some important inclusions tonight …

St Kilda responds
St Kilda released a statement a short time ago:
St Kilda Football Club is naturally disappointed with the decision handed down by the AFL disciplinary tribunal this afternoon.
The process is ongoing, with further submissions from both parties to be made on any penalty. A date for this next step is yet to be confirmed.
The club is also reviewing the tribunal’s written findings and will consider its position, including avenues of appeal. We will continue to support Lance throughout this process.
As the matter remains ongoing, the club will make no further comment at this time.

The AFL’s statement is as follows:
The AFL acknowledges the decision of the independent disciplinary tribunal today to uphold the charge against Lance Collard of the St Kilda Football Club following a finding that he breached AFL Rule 2.3(a) (Conduct Unbecoming) by the use of a homophobic slur directed towards an opponent in a VFL match on March 27.
A sanction hearing will now be convened to determine the sanction at a date and time to be determined.
The AFL has no tolerance for the use of homophobic language in our game and its expectations have been made extremely clear to all of our players, including by education that all AFL and VFL players receive.
