Everyone at Glentoran Football Club is delighted to see a number of players and staff recognised with shortlist nominations for the 2026 NIFL Football Awards.
In the Sports Direct Premiership Player of the Year category, both Cameron Palmer and Pat Hoban have been shortlisted following outstanding seasons in Glentoran colours, with both players playing key roles throughout the campaign.
Hoban has also received further recognition for his performances this season, having been nominated for the PFA Northern Ireland Players’ Player of the Year award.
Midfielder Joe Thomson has been shortlisted for Goal of the Season, sponsored by Uhlsport UK, with his Boxing Day winner against Linfield rightly earning its place among the best strikes of the season.
Off the pitch, Leanne Dawson has been shortlisted for the Club Employee Excellence Award, sponsored by Juice Jar, in recognition of the vital work she does behind the scenes to support the club.
The NIFL Football Awards celebrate the very best of the game in Northern Ireland, recognising both on-field excellence and the people who drive clubs forward within their communities.
This year’s awards will take place on Saturday 11 April, with MUTV presenter Helen Evans and Cool FM’s Curtis McCosh returning as hosts.
