It seems every couple of months, we’re reminded not to get anywhere near sharks. Although, in theory, that should be easy (and obvious), it comes up often enough on TikTok and elsewhere in the news. These guys have further proof that we should heed the warning.
This particular clip focused on some pretty spectacular footage of a Great White Shark, who decided to hang out next to the boat of two unsuspecting fishermen. The news channel captioned the video, “A group of fishers says they hurried back to shore after a monster Great White began circling their tinny off the state’s southeast at Robe. They have told 7NEWS they realized something was up when a group of birds suddenly scattered.” Good job, birds!
The two men expand a bit in the clip, which includes the video that captured their shock at the sighting. In it, they notice the big fish and then decide to turn around as he got closer. They also noticed that the shark was doing a lot of “circling,” which doesn’t generally bode well.
Despite the harrowing tale, viewers still had a number of jokes. “You’re going to need a bigger boat,” from @Cameron topped the comments. @dpw_sammy referenced another movie with, “He’s Bruce. He just wants to be friends,” comparing this ocean predator to the shark in Finding Nemo. Finally, @Tay had a fair take, “That’s such a beautiful shark.” Since we’re not right there, we get to admire it plenty.

How To Prevent a Shark Attack?
If staying out of the ocean forever doesn’t seem like a good option, there are plenty of ways to reduce your risk while swimming or boating. When it comes to being in the water with known shark visitors, experts warn to stay in groups, avoid wearing shiny jewelry, and keep splashing to a minimum. When boating, many advise fishermen to choose non-shark areas and turn off the engine if possible, as sharks could be attracted to the sound.
While we’re sure this is solid advice, you can always stay far away from shark-infested waters and forget these tips.
