WEST POINT, Miss. – The UNT men’s golf team completed the first two rounds of the Mossy Oak Collegiate Monday, shooting a combined 15-over to land in 13th place.

Battling a competitive 19-team field at Mossy Oak Golf Club, the Mean Green got off to a hot start with 2-over opening round that put them in a tie for fifth. They ultimately landed in 13th but are still within striking distance of a solid finish, sitting just 11 strokes back of the top five. Ole Miss holds the top spot on the leaderboard at 17-under, while host Mississippi State is nine shots behind in second.

Blake Keen was the top Mean Green performer of the day as he shot even-par to claim a spot inside the top 20. His Monday was propelled by a first round 70 that featured four birdies and sent him into the afternoon tied for sixth. Just a sophomore, Keen will be looking to secure his second straight top-15 tournament finish on Tuesday.

Three Mean Green players sit near each other on the leaderboard after Mitchell Maier (+4), Alex Huang (+5) and Kalle Svederman (+6) tied for 51st, 58th and 62nd, respectively.

Making his first start of the season, Rafael Estrada carded rounds of 77 and 78 to complete the day in a tie for 84th.
