One thing is certain when it comes to Anthony Davis, he wants to compete at all costs. When he was traded to the Washington Wizards at the NBA Trade Deadline, there were questions about his fit. However, his teammates are quickly dispelling those narratives of team chemistry. Guys like Alex Sarr, Tristan Vukcevic, and Kyshawn George seem to be learning a lot from the veteran big man. They got real on how the NBA champion is slowly becoming a great leader for them.

Davis rises as Wizards leader, great in team chemistry

Look, the Wizards are clearly not going to win anything immediately after they traded for Anthony Davis and Trae Young. They completely had a tank job which led to the worst record in the NBA which meant they only won 17 games. A lot of young players got the opportunity to play but did not have a chance to play with Davis yet. Despite not seeing in uniform or the court yet, Davis remains to be a leader for the Wizards.

Tristan Vukcevic unveiled how the new Wizards big man has been helping them, via Josh Robbins of The Athletic.

“He’s definitely got a nice sense of humor. You don’t know what to expect when somebody comes in. So, him fitting into our little goofy, young squad was great to see. Him just being involved and helping everybody, from guards to bigs, was super helpful,” the Wizards young gun said.

Davis has also signaled that he will be ready to go once the Wizards’ offseason trainings start. Moreover, the veteran big man clarified his willingness to stay with the team. This made everyone around him very happy and Kyshawn George even made huge NBA Playoffs statements..

“Many, many great things. I think we will still be playing at this time next year, for sure, and I think we’re going to compete for something that I’ve never competed for yet,” George said.

The Wizards have a rare player in Davis. He is officially a top 75 player of all-time in the NBA and these early signs of leadership show why.
