Farmer Wants a Wife stars David and Emily welcome baby girl: ‘Indescribable feeling’

Farmer David McMahon and his wife Emily have welcomed a baby girl.

The couple, who found love on season 13 of Channel 7’s hit show Farmer Wants A Wife, shared the happy news on Instagram, revealing their daughter Willa Mae McMahon was born on April 10.

“To have you in our arms is an indescribable feeling — we love you,” they wrote alongside sweet black-and-white photos of their newborn.

The proud parents first announced they were expecting in October last year, sharing a photo of their two dogs beside a white baby onesie.

“2026 will be the greatest adventure yet!” David wrote at the time. “Our family is about to grow by two tiny feet.”

David and Emily fell in love on the reality show in 2023 and by October that same year they had announced their engagement.

“Incredibly proud to announce, this Farmer has found his Wife,” David captioned the post.

A year later, on October 19, the couple tied the knot in the garden of David’s family farm, surrounded by 220 loved ones.

Wearing an ivory halter-neck gown by designer Milla Nova, Emily walked down the aisle to Florence and the Machine’s version of Stand By Me, accompanied by both of her parents.

“Starting a family on the farm is definitely something we have talked about,” David said at the time.

Sparks began to fly early in the season for Emily and David and after weeks of getting to know each other in front of the camera, the finale episode saw David visit Emily’s family in her hometown of Brisbane.

For Emily’s mum, the most important question was where “David actually is at this point in his life,” with the fourth-generation apple farmer showing no signs of leaving the farm life behind.

Days after David declared his love for Emily on Farmer Wants a Wife, the couple spoke to 7NEWS and confirmed Emily had made the decision to move from her home in Brisbane to relocate to David’s apple farm.

“I was a little bit anxious that I really wanted to find, you know, my career and life here,” she said.

“I’m just used to my routine and I knew that was going to change but I was excited to get involved with the community here.”

David revealed once the cameras and crew were gone, they had to relearn to love each other in a natural environment.

“I think that process is just as exciting as falling for each other on the show,” he said at the time.

“I don’t think we ever could have expected to start something this amazing from a show which, you know, seems so distant at the very beginning.”
