Team leaders Stephen Crichton, Jarome Luai and Adam Reynolds headline the list of players pushing to return from injury across a big weekend of footy.
Crichton has been named in the reserves for Canterbury’s clash with the Eels, while Luai and Reynolds are set to face off when the Wests Tigers host the Broncos in a Saturday-night showdown at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
A full house is expected, with Luai on track to start at five-eighth for the Tigers and Reynolds returning from a groin injury for Brisbane.
Following further medical assessment by an independent specialist, Broncos hooker Cory Paix will remain unavailable after suffering a head knock last week.

Cowboys: Reed Mahoney’s bid to recover from a head knock has fallen short, with Soni Luke to start at hooker. Braidon Burns is on track to return from an ankle injury that forced him to miss last week’s win over Brisbane. The winger will replace Murray Taulagi, who also suffered a head knock in Round 6. Scott Drinkwater will play his 150th game for the Cowboys.
Sea Eagles: Lock Jake Trbojevic is on track to take his place in the team despite suffering a nasty cut that forced him to lose vision in his right eye last week. Prop Siosiua Taukeiaho is also set to complete his comeback from a calf injury that has sidelined him since Round 1. Winger Jason Saab has scored six tries in his last three games against the Cowboys.

Raiders: Centre Matt Timoko is set for his first match since Round 2 as Ricky Stuart rejigs his backline for Friday night’s crucial clash with the Storm. Seb Kris moves to the wing as a result and Savelio Tamale has dropped back to the reserves. Josh Papalii and Noah Martin have been named to start but could revert to the interchange on game day, as they did last week.
Storm: Manaia Watere is set to start on the wing after Moses Leo shifted to the reserves. No other changes to the starting side as Melbourne battle to avoid five-straight losses for the first time since 2012.

Dolphins: Brad Schneider is set to play a role off the bench after Kurt Donoghoe was ruled out with injury. Schneider wore No.14 in the Dolphins loss to Manly prior to last week’s bye, but coach Kristian Woolf opted to inject Donoghoe into the contest instead. Jeremy Marshall-King also remains sidelined as he slowly works his way back to fitness from a knee injury.
Panthers: Izack Tago is set for his first chance in the top flight this season and will start in the centres in place of the suspended Casey McLean. It will be Tago’s 100th NRL appearance. Penrith have been dealt a big blow with Liam Martin ruled out with a knee injury. The representative forward will be replaced by Luke Garner in the starting side, with Kalani Going the new face on the bench.

Warriors: Star prop Mitchell Barnett is an outside chance of making an early comeback from a fractured thumb and has been listed on the reserves alongside Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, who is hoping to return from a neck injury. No such luck for Tanner Stowers-Smith, who succumbs to a hamstring injury but Kurt Capewell is on track to return from a calf injury and will line up in the back row.
Titans: Prop Klese Haas is pushing to return from a quad injury that forced him to miss last week’s big win over the Eels and remains in the extended squad. No other changes for a Titans team chasing back-to-back away wins for the first time since 2023.

Rabbitohs: Former Dragon Matt Dufty is set for his first NRL game since Round 12, 2022 after receiving clearance to replace injured fullback Jye Gray in the No.1 jersey. South Sydney have also been dealt a blow with the loss of David Fifita to a hamstring injury. Lachlan Hubner comes into the back row. Latrell Mitchell has scored 12 tries in 10 games at Accor Stadium.
Dragons: The loss of Moses Suli to a fractured eye socket will see Mat Feagai start in the centres for the first time this year, having come off the bench on three occasions. Coach Shane Flanagan could also turn to a crop of youngsters as the Dragons chase their first win of the year, with Jacob Halangahu and Kade Reed listed on the six-man bench. Winger Christian Tuipulotu is also on track to take his place in the side despite leaving the field with a knee injury last week.

Wests Tigers: Co-captain Jarome Luai will take his place in the team provided he passes a fitness test later this week, while the Tigers are also set to welcome back centre Taylan May for his first game since suffering a shoulder injury in Round 1. Samuela Fainu is on track to line up despite leaving last week’s win over Newcastle with a knee injury. Tony Sukkar will likely come on to the bench if Fainu is ruled out.
Broncos: Adam Reynolds is on track to make his return from a groin injury after missing last week’s tight loss to the Cowboys. Xavier Willison is set to start at lock in place of suspended co-captain Pat Carrigan, while 29-year-old hooker Josh Rogers is set for his first NRL game since 2024 after Cory Paix (head knock) was ruled out following further medical assessment by an independent specialist. Youngster Cameron Bukowski could also be in line for an NRL debut following a strong start to the Q Cup season with Wynnum Manly.

Roosters: Centre Billy Smith is pushing to return from a knee injury suffered in Round 4 and remains in the reserves for Sunday’s clash. Hugo Savala will likely be the man to drop out if Smith returns to the fold. The Roosters are otherwise settled as they chase their third-straight victory.
Knights: Star recruit Dylan Brown is on track to complete his comeback from a knee injury suffered in Round 2 and will line up in the No.7 jersey alongside five-eighth Sandon Smith. Brown’s return will force Fletcher Sharpe to shift to fullback and Fletcher Hunt into the centres as coach Justin Holbrook continues to navigate the absence of Kalyn Ponga and Bradman Best. Back-rower Thomas Cant is set to start in Dylan Lucas’ place after the forward suffered a nasty throat injury, with Tyson Frizell (ribs) also unavailable.

Eels: Sean Russell is on track to return from a concussion as the Eels continue to deal with an overflowing casualty ward. The centre’s return will see Brian Kelly shift to the wing, however Kelma Tuilagi and Sam Tuivaiti have both been ruled out due to head knocks. Jack Williams and Charlie Guymer are the new starting back-rowers, with debutant Saxon Pryke and Toni Mataele the new faces on the bench.
Bulldogs: Inspirational skipper Stephen Crichton is pushing for a shock comeback from a shoulder injury suffered on Good Friday and remains in the extended squad for Sunday’s game. Crichton’s return would see either Enari Tuala or Bronson Xerri shift to the reserves. New recruit Leo Thompson is also set for his first game for the Bulldogs after recovering from a calf injury suffered in the pre-season. Josh Curran remains in the mix to return from a leg injury suffered in Round 4 and is listed in the reserves alongside Crichton.
