Emmerdale spoilers follow from Monday’s episode (11 August), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.

The war between Ruby Miligan and Manpreet Sharma continues on Emmerdale, leading the GP and Ross Barton unsure about their ongoing secret romance.

In today’s episode, Manpreet and Ross start to realise their current fling is probably doing them more harm than good as half the village is against them.

In recent scenes, Ruby spotted the couple kiss on Manpreet’s doorstep shortly after Ross’s ex, Ruby’s daughter Steph, left for Rome.

Despite Manpreet previously assuring Ruby it had been a one-time thing with Ross, it seems the two are continuing to see each other.

In a new development, Manpreet saw Ruby embarrass her at her GP practice in front of Claudette and her patients. Ruby exposed Manpreet’s personal life in the waiting room, calling her a “lying slapper”.

Meanwhile, Ross has been having an equally hard time since the affair was exposed. Strapped for cash, he’s not having any luck getting a new job after being rejected by Cain Dingle, Steph’s father Caleb Miligan and even Charity Dingle at the pub.

Determined to give Ruby a taste of her own medicine, Manpreet shows up at her place of work. The doctor refuses to leave until Ruby hears her out, sitting on a forklift and stopping work.

When Jai shows up, he insists that Ruby has a chat with Manpreet so they could all return to work.

The situation between two women escalates when Manpreet has some home truths for Ruby, hinting at her being a “car crash of a mother” to Steph.

“Steph didn’t leave because of me. She left because of you,” Manpreet declared, hitting too close to home for Ruby.

As Jai and Kerry look on in disbelief, Ruby retorts by attacking Manpreet, who responds kicking her. A brawl ensues, with the GP making things worse when she hints at Ruby’s father, Anthony Fox, having disappeared from her life, unaware she’d killed him after enduring years of abuse.

The police finally arrive to break up the row, arresting both Manpreet and Ruby, who vows revenge.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
