Pacific Equity Partners is betting on strong demand for artificial intelligence and cloud computing services in New Zealand after snapping up a majority stake in data centres owned by the country’s biggest telecommunications group.
As flagged by The Australian Financial Review’s Street Talk, telco Spark New Zealand has sold a 75 per cent stake in its 11 data centres to the Australian private equity group for up to $NZ584 million ($532 million) in cash.
