Drive This: Zeekr 7X (Long Range RWD)
This month, Australia’s already competitive market for electric, mid-size SUVs welcomed its newest challenger – the Zeekr 7X.
Part of the eponymous, Geely-backed player’s “software-defined” line-up of value-led family cars, the 7X range is the logical intermediate step between the small, sportif X and the brand’s 009-badged mass people mover.
The middle child in Zeekr’s middle range stands out as the epitome of all the 7X’s strengths.
For just shy of $70,000, factoring in on-roads, drivers have a 5G infotainment system; five-seater cabin; and effective range of around 615km at their disposal.
The long-range variation is also an effective showcase for Zeekr’s proprietary “Golden Battery” technology, which the company’s representatives assert will charge from 10%-80% capacity in “as little as 13 minutes”.
Just long enough for the obligatory rest stop break on your next roadtrip.
