The escalating feud between combat sports heavyweights Eddie Hearn and Dana White continued over the weekend after the UFC boss suggested the pair settle their differences inside the ring.

White, who’s not known for avoiding a scrap, jokingly floated the idea during an interview – proposing a boxing match with Hearn and calling him a “p****y”.

While White has since cooled on the idea, Hearn has doubled down on making the fight happen.

On Sunday, Hearn took aim at White again for “backing out”.

“The only thing that can stop the fight happening is Dana White,” Hearn said.

“So really, the truth of the matter is, he’s backing out of the fight that he called on.

So who’s the p***y now? Where’s your balls gone, you p***y? Something like that, I don’t know.

“I mean, you can’t keep calling me a p***y when you call me out for a fight, and I accept the fight, and then you go, ‘Oh, no, no, we’re bums, it would go on earlier in the night’.

“What the f**k is that?

“We would main event and sell out a massive stadium.

“And if it’s on DAZN – do you not agree with me? Do you not think we’d sell out The O2? Do you not think we’d do over a million buys globally?

“Don’t forget, he is a big name, right?

I mean, some may say bigger than me. Well, I don’t know. But certainly in America.

“So we’ve got the American audience, we’ve got the UK audience. Can you imagine how the f**k I would sell this show? Oh, my God. Anyway, it’s all probably fantasy, but I do think about it on every run.

“In bed every night I’ve picked my ring walk, I’ve actually designed my robe. But, like I said, it’ll probably just be fantasy because unfortunately, Dana White backed out of the fight.”

DANA WHITE RETURNS SERVE

A few hours later, after a UFC event in Winnipeg, Canada, White addressed the situation.

“Listen, Eddie says a lot of dumb s**t,” White told the media at his post-fight scrum.

“I’m getting used to it. Eddie said that me and him are the biggest fight in boxing.

“Therein lies the problem with boxing, and the fact that a fight promoter who’s actually put on big fights and have a stable of good fighters would say something that f**king stupid is starting to not be as shocking as it was in the beginning.

“You’re a f**king bum, I’m old, and we don’t even deserve to be on a card with a bunch of real fighters.”

ULBERG UPDATE AND THE FUTURE OF LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT

Meanwhile, Carlos Ulberg has undergone knee surgery after tearing his ACL in his incredible title win over Jiri Prochazka at UFC 327 last weekend.

Ulberg suffered the injury in the opening round of Sunday’s light heavyweight showdown in Miami but pushed through regardless.

Showing serious ticker, ‘Black Jag’ still managed to flatten Prochazka with a crushing left hook – all while effectively fighting on one leg.

He has since undergone surgery in Las Vegas, with recovery expected to take up to 12 months.

White provided an update on Sunday.

“One of the good things about it is, he [Ulberg] was at Power Slap last night, and I was talking to him, and he’s gonna stay in Vegas,” White said.

“He’s got the surgery, and he’s gonna start working at the [UFC] PI. Apparently, where he lives in Australia, he’s in a remote part of the country, so there isn’t much around him.

“What we would do before we built the Performance Institute is we would get these guys surgeries with great doctors, and then they’d go home, and they wouldn’t do anything. They didn’t do any physical therapy or recovery.

“Now with the PI, that place has saved more fights and helped more athletes prolong their careers.

“We’ll get him in there, and see how fast he starts to recover. We always figure it out.”

Pressed on whether an interim light heavyweight title could be introduced, White shut it down… for now.

“We have not,” the UFC boss replied.

“I mean, Carlos is still getting set up here.

“But we’ll figure it out.”
