The Johor Darul Ta’zim star was knocked out by Ah-Ahli player Ali Majrashi in an AFC Champions League quarter-final clash.

Players rushed to help Jairo and called for the medics to rush onto the pitch.

When no immediate help was forthcoming, Johor captain Natxo Insa frantically ran over to the touchline to grab a stretcher.

He furiously kicked a stool that a physio had remained seated on despite Jairo’s need for medical attention.

Insa then carried the stretched over to his stricken teammate and attempted to help as other medics attended to the Brazilian.

Jairo, 33, was rushed to hospital where he underwent an X-ray and CT scan.

He received stitches to his cut lip and was visited by Ah-Ahli staff members, with the Saudi Arabian club passing on their well wishes.

“Al Ahli Club extends its best wishes for a speedy recovery to Johor Darul Ta’zim player following the injury sustained during the match,” a short statement read.

Majrashi, who was sent off for his dangerous fly kick, also visited Jairo and the pair posed for a photo together.

Insa was shown a yellow card for carrying a stretcher onto the pitch, with Johor losing 2-1 despite Majrashi’s dismissal in the 37th minute.

It was Majrashi’s own goal which had given Johor the lead, before ten-man Al-Ahli scored twice either side of halftime to reach the semi-final.
