With a new renovation show launching on Seven, Nine strategically brought out one of its big guns. And it worked.
Nine strategically dropped a new episode of Travel Guides last night even though the series will not screen in full until later this year.
Anyone would think it was to spoil the premiere of Seven’s new renovation series….
It was a ploy that worked, with an Irish jaunt drawing a cool 1.03m viewers for Nine and topping entertainment in National TV Audience.
That was ahead of 7:30 (810,000), MasterChef Australia (659,000), My Reno Rules (638,000) and Foreign Correspondent (515,000).
Later Clarkson’s Farm (443,000) pipped The Cheap Seats return (435,000) then Judgment: Cases that Changed Australia (288,000), House of Wellness (221,000) and Insight (148,000).
Seven News was #1 at 1.5m then Home & Away at an impressive 1.00m and The Chase (697,000). The Agenda Setters is TBA.
Nine News drew 1.33m then A Current Affair (1.01m) and Tipping Point (783,000). Footy Classified and Nine News Late are TBA.
ABC News was 999,000 for ABC then Hard Chat (398,000) and You Can’t Ask That (171,000).
Both 10 News and Millionaire Hot Seat pulled 319,000 for 10 then Deal or No Deal (225,000), 10 News+ (152,000) and 10 Late News (199,000).
