McDonald’s has quietly axed a handful of popular McCafe items.
One Australian recently realised cheese toasties had vanished from their local restaurant’s menu.
The customer complained on social media that the toasties “will be missed” even though they “always came out soggy”.
But, this missing menu item wasn’t confined just to that specific location, nor was it just toasties that were dumped.
“At Macca’s, we’re committed to serving great tasting, great value food that Aussies know and love,” a spokesperson told Yahoo Lifestyle.

“We regularly review and evolve our menu to keep it exciting and focused on what matters most to our customers.
“As part of this, we’re currently trialling the temporary removal of McCafé Toasties, Banana Bread and Raisin Toast from a small number of restaurants across NSW and Victoria.”
McDonald’s didn’t confirm which restaurants specifically across the two states wouldn’t have the items.
The fast food chain’s Cremorne, Rockdale and Sydney George St locations all still list the items.
However, Castle Hill restaurant states the items are “unavailable”.

“These items remain available in the majority of restaurants across the country, and no decision has been made about any permanent menu changes,” the McDonald’s spokesperson added.
“We welcome customer feedback throughout the trial and look forward to hearing what they’d like to see on our menu in the future.”
It’s not the first item that has been given the boot in recent months, with chocolate soft serves being removed from menus on March 31.
The item was initially trialled in 2021 before it was rolled out across the country two years later.
The fast food giant also axed nine items from its menu last year, including the Grilled Chicken Deluxe, the BBQ Bacon and Cheese toastie, the Caesar Chicken McWrap and the Yoplait Petit Miam Strawberry Yoghurt.
