Sunday’s NFL preseason game between the Miami Dolphins and the Chicago Bears did not feature Caleb Williams. It did, however, feature one of Williams’ favorite targets from his time in Cardinal and Gold: former USC wide receiver Tahj Washington.
A seventh round pick by Miami last year, Washington missed his entire rookie season with a leg injury. Making his preseason NFL debut Sunday, Washington impressed, catching three passes for 53 yards and impressing a notable NFL analyst.

“Like what I’m seeing from Tahj Washington,” Louis Riddick of ESPN wrote on social media during the game.
After starting his college career at Memphis, Washington played at USC from 2021-2023. In his redshirt senior season with the Trojans, he was the team’s leading receiver, catching 59 passes for 1,062 yards and eight touchdowns.
After missing all of last year, Washington is currently fighting for a spot on the Dolphins’ roster in 2025. USC fans will certainly be pulling for Washington and hoping that he gets a chance to prove that he belongs in the league.
