The first round of the NFL draft is here, and we will soon find out how many Notre Dame players get selected during the first round.
Currently, the expectations are that running back Jeremiyah Love should hear his named getting called very early, then after that, its up in the air as to who will get picked next.

There have been rumors that another running back Jadarian Price could go toward the end of the round, and there looks like an outside chance that wide receiver Malachi Fields could get taken as well. We will find out soon what happens, so follow along below to live updates, reactions and analysis of what happens to the former Irish players during the NFL draft’s first round.
The Saints take the top wide receiver on their board. Tyson had lingering injuries but his upside was too much to pass up and was Mel Kiper’s number one wide receiver.
REACTIONS:
Washington has to be elated that Sonny Styles fell all the way to #7 for them. They get a first-team all-american and a guy who could be a foundation for their offense for the next decade.

I thought Carnell Tate at #4 was a surprise, but this one takes the cake. The Kansas City Chiefs traded up to 36 to get Delane, a player many would guess they could have gotten at the original #9 pick.
We have our second straight Buckeye taken. Also notable, the Kansas City Chiefs have traded for the following pick and they will be picking at #6.
Pick #4: Tennessee Titans Select Ohio State WR Carnell Tate
The first surprise of the draft is taken at No. 4 as the Titans look to compliment their top pick last year, quarterback Cam Ward with a go-to wide receiver. Someone could have made a lot of money betting Carnell Tate as the first Buckeye off the board tonight.
#3 Arizona Cardinals select: NOTRE DAME RB JEREMIYAH LOVE
It was not a smokescreen! The Arizona Cardinals take Love with the third overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Jeremiyah is the first running back taken in the top 5 picks since Penn State running back Saquon Barkley.

Ok, NOW the draft officially starts for Irish fans, as Love is expected by most to be picked within the next three picks. Does Arizona have a trade lined up? Or was that interest this week authentic and Jeremiyah goes to the desert?
Draft Has Started, the Las Vegas Raiders on the Clock!
There should not be much surprise at the top of the draft as most expect the Raiders to select Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza. Notre Dame fans for now can most look to see what Arizona does with pick #3 as their interest in Love this week could be because they are trying to bait a team interested in him to trade up.

Jeremiyah Love will make a team very happy
One of the best running back prospects to come out of college, not just in this draft, but over the last decade, Love is going to make the team who picks him very happy. The versatile back should go inside the top-5 picks, and while that’s typically a rebuilding team, he’s still going to make a big impact.
