You know it was bound to happen – someone’s covered t.A.T.u.’s ‘All The Things She Said’ in the Like A Version studio. And that someone is none other than Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers.
Taking on the monster 2002 pop hit wasn’t a massive challenge for the Ngunnawal/Canberra band, because they see it as something that would live in their musical universe anyway.
“It kind of already sounds like a Teen Jesus song but in the pop world,” bassist Jaida Stephenson said.
It also definitely doesn’t hurt that the whole band are massive Heated Rivalry fans, either.
“Legally, we had to do it,” bassist Scarlett McKahey added.
It’s a belter of a return to the Like A Version studio – and continues the Teenjus tradition of covering excellent pop tracks by women. Covering t.A.T.u. was quick, and natural, work for the band; vocalist Anna Ryan didn’t even have to learn the lyrics because she already knew them by simply existing through the 2000s.
A perfectly-polished performance, primed to be blasted loudly at the cottage. It’ll be running through your head for days.
