A young James Valentine hosted ABC’s own afternoon show from 1987 – 1990.
I will always associate James Valentine with TVTV, which he hosted following Simon Townsend.
But many readers this week referenced The Afternoon Show which screened as afternoon children’s programming block between 5 to 6pm on ABC, with titles including Inspector Gadget, Count Duckula, Danger Mouse, Roger Ramjet, Rocky and Bullwinkle plus Monkey and Doctor Who.
Created by Harvey Shore there were also segments and competitions fronted by a young Valentine, who hosted from 1987 – 1990.
The Afternoon Show ran until 1993 with Michael Tunn hosting from 1991. Tunn also hosted its replacement music show, Loud.
