Anne Hathaway’s current streak of red-carpet dominance shows no sign of slowing down.
Last night’s London premiere of Mother Mary was merely the latest stop in a mammoth month for the actress, who has spent recent weeks juggling appearances and a packed press tour for the Devil Wears Prada sequel.
Hathaway stepped out in Iris van Herpen couture to spruik her latest film, the design featuring a sheer, lattice-style bodice with exaggerated satin sleeves.

She kept the rest relatively pared back, styling her hair in a soft half-up look and wearing minimal jewellery.
The gothic ensemble serves as a direct nod to the movie, a psychological drama about a singer who reconnects with her estranged best friend and former costume designer.

It told a different story to her New York premiere look – also sheer, but crafted from metallic mesh.
The 43-year-old wore a dreamy Lever Couture gown that flowed structurally around her figure, gathering at her thigh in an asymmetrical skirt before continuing in strips down her leg.

Off the carpet, she has also spoken about preparing for Mother Mary, which required her to perform original songs written by FKA Twigs, Jack Antonoff and Charli XCX.
Hathaway, who famously secured an Oscar for her vocal performance in Les Misérables, noted that her approach to singing felt different this time around.
“To my horror and dismay, I realised I had no idea how to sing into a microphone because all of my training was onstage, where there’s so much projection involved,” she said.

“Pop music is the opposite. It’s effortless power, which is not really my thing. I’m, like, all about effort.”
“I was like, wow, I am so not a pop star,” the mum of two quipped.
