Chicago, Illinois – Illinois State claimed the 2026 Missouri Valley Conference Tennis Championship with a 4-0 victory over Drake at XS Tennis Village.
The Redbirds captured their first MVC Tournament title since 2022. The Redbirds will advance to the NCAA Tournament, which begins in early May. The NCAA Selection Show will take place on Monday, April 27 at 4:30 p.m. ET on NCAA.com.

Illinois State opened the match by taking the doubles point. The duo of Nicole Iosio and Nuria Sanz earned a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles, while the Redbirds also picked up a victory by default at No. 3 doubles to clinch the point.
The Redbirds carried the momentum into singles play, quickly adding to their lead. Emma Lindh secured the first singles point at No. 6 by default. Nicole Iosio followed with a strong straight-set win at No. 5 (6-1, 6-2). The match-clinching point was delivered by Vittoria Benedetti at No. 3 singles with a 6-3, 6-4 victory, sealing the championship for Illinois State.
