A devout Cornwall Christian has joined the cast of Virgin Island for season two of the Channel 4 show. Joy, an event coordinator from Falmouth, is off to the Mediterranean to overcome her personal sexual issues.
The groundbreaking series, which accumulated almost nine million views on streaming platforms for its first series, follows 12 adult virgins as they travel to a luxury retreat to embark on a unique course in intimacy and see if it can help them overcome the fears that are holding them back.
Having become one of the most talked-about shows of the year in 2025, the series shot to the top of the list of Channel 4’s new unscripted series launches, overtaking classic titles such as Supernanny and the original series of Married at First Sight.

Her condition means she has an involuntary spasm of pelvic floor muscles that can make sex extremely painful and impossible. She hopes being on the retreat will allow her to overcome her anxiety around sex.
“I told my friends there was no way I’d go through with it, but watching series one really changed my mind,” she shared. “Despite having a vaginismus diagnosis for years, I had only made minimal progress and was starting to lose hope of ever being healed.
“Deep down, I think I knew I needed the expert help and was just hiding behind the humour of it all.”
