Brothers Terrell and Taylan May have both inked contract extensions with the Wests Tigers until the end of 2030, but not before giving fans a scare.
Just before confirmation of their extension, the brothers took to their Mayday podcast channel and Terrell said “an opportunity had come about to play with our older brother (Tyrone) in PNG in 2028”.

The post titled ‘MAY BROTHERS ANNOUNCE EMOTIONAL EXIT! SET TO LEAVE CLUB’ caused a lot of brief panic from some fans, while others were sceptical of being pranked.
“This is fake right,” one user commented.
“I don’t know if I should believe this,” another person said.
Thankfully for Tigers fans, their suspicions were right.
Less than 10 minutes later, the brothers made another post to their channel announcing their three-year extension at the Tigers by using a tongue-in-cheek press conference setting.

At the same time, their club confirmed the news of the duo staying on with the club.
“Family is so important to us and it’s something that drew me to the club in the first place. I can’t speak highly enough of Benji and the staff for the support they give us to be ourselves on and off the field,” Terrell said.
It was a sentiment echoed by his brother, who was given a second chance at NRL level by the club.
“I was grateful for the opportunity Benji and the club gave to me last year, giving me a chance to come back to the NRL and play with my brother has been a dream for us,” brother Taylan said.
“We both love it here and I love all the boys, we’ve got a great culture. We’re playing our footy and enjoying the process of getting better every day.”
Terrell May has so far averaged 161 run metres in 2026, and has been instrumental in the Tigers’ forward pack as they push for a rare finals appearance.
Taylan May on the other hand has crossed for four tries in the outside backs, notching up three try assists and six line breaks.
The Tigers head across Sydney to take on the Cronulla Sharks at 4:05pm this Sunday at Ocean Protect Stadium.
