Fresh from the success of her action-packed series The Last Thing He Told Me, Jennifer Garner is slowing down the pace with her new miniseries, The Five-Star Weekend.
In the new Peacock drama, which premieres locally on BINGE on July 9, the actress plays a recently widowed chef-fluencer and cookbook author named Hollis Shaw who invites her closest girlfriends on a weekend away to the coastal town of Nantucket in Massachusetts.
The first-look trailer was released this week boasts an all-star cast of Regina Hall, Chloë Sevigny, Gemma Chan and D’Arcy Carden, who each play Hollis’ nearest and dearest from different chapters of her life.
But her friendships with the women are tested on the soul-searching trip when long-held secrets and buried tensions soon surface.

The seemingly perfect life Hollis built then begins to unravel as her strained marriage and complicated relationship with her daughter are uncovered.
The series also features Judy Greer, Garner’s co-star in the hit rom-com Suddenly 30 – the pair most recently appeared on screen together in The Last Thing He Told Me.
Rising star Harlow Jane – the daughter of Hollywood stars Patricia Arquette and Thomas Jane – will play Garner’s on-screen daughter, Caroline.
“In an effort to overcome grief and find herself again, Hollis gets the idea to host a weekend away at her house on Nantucket with three friends from different stages in her life: her childhood, her twenties, her thirties, and one surprise fifth star,” reads the logline for the series, which is based on author Elin Hilderbrand’s 2023 novel of the same name.
“Set against a luxurious and coastal backdrop, the stars will mature in ways they could never imagine as boundaries are pushed and secrets are exposed.”
Speaking to Hello! last year while in the middle of filming, Garner said she loved the sisterhood of making the show with her co-stars.
“I think this is a role about friendship. It’s a role about growing at this stage in your life,” she told the magazine. “It’s women who are in the middle of this – what is their next chapter going to be? What’s their next story going to be? Their story is not done.”
“It’s about how relationships can be messy. But kind of like my galette, they’re still worth working on. And they’re still going to be delicious in the end. It’s about forgiveness and growth.
“I just can’t think of anything I’ve enjoyed more than being with this group and doing this role this summer.”
