Venus Williams is set to be immortalised in plastic as part of Barbie’s Inspiring Women collection, with a new doll modelled after the tennis legend and pay equity champion. The doll, which will hit the shelves on Friday, is dressed in the uniform that Williams wore during her triumphant 2007 Wimbledon win.
This victory marked the first time a woman received equal prize money to men at a top-tier tournament, securing Williams’ fifth out of seven grand slam titles. Retailing at $38, the doll features Williams in an all-white ensemble, complete with a green gem necklace, wristband, racket and tennis ball.
This isn’t the first time Williams has been honoured by Barbie – back in May 2024, a doll was released as part of nine trailblazing female athletes celebrated for Barbie’s 65th anniversary.
