Good morning and welcome to WAtoday’s live news blog for this Monday, the 4th May.
Making headlines today, a West Australian teacher says she feels horrendously let down and unsupported after being fired from her primary school job over what she claims were unsubstantiated allegations about her strangling children.
The woman, who asked not to be named, was in her second year of teaching and working at a regional Catholic primary school last year when the allegations arose.
Meanwhile, more than $2 billion is being tipped into housing in Western Australia in a joint state and Commonwealth effort to make it easier for first-home buyers to get into the market.
And Perth-born Sam Kerr has been left savouring a goal she believes may be the most special of her garlanded career as she became Chelsea’s all-time leading scorer in England’s Women’s Super League.
