Assistant Technology Minister Andrew Charlton says Anthropic’s artificial intelligence tool Mythos will not be the last model to present a risk to Australia, as a blitz begins to promote local AI development amid fears the digital economy will be hollowed out by Silicon Valley tech giants.
Charlton is preparing to launch a major push to get Australian businesses to choose local AI products, including convening tech bosses from the country’s biggest businesses this month to cajole them into doing so and commissioning the National AI Centre to help domestic firms compete on marketing their products.
