The introduction of the four bronze sculptures, as well as a wall installation, extends Davies’ investigations of space and environments into physical, three-dimensional form, creating a more intense and immersive spatial and perceptual experience. “I’m excited to see how these mediums come together in the show,” he says, then adds, “the challenge for me was just trusting the process.”

That method, says Davies, is “laborious—but I enjoy the slow process. I take photos, make collages and hand cut these into stencils to use as screens—layers in the canvas or sunlight exposures on paper. Finally, when they’re built up with layers of paint I have some of them cast in bronze.” Understandably, Davies is most excited about introducing these sculptures to the world.
