High school boys tennis: Hornets win again, advance to regional final

SALISBURY – Salisbury’s boys tennis team won again on Wednesday, beating East Burke in a fourth-round matchup in the 4A dual team state playoffs.
The Hornets prevailed 5-1.
It was the first loss for third-seeded East Burke (15-1). Second-seeded Salisbury is 19-2 and advances to the regional final. That match will be played on Tuesday, May 12.
AJ Jarrell lost at No. 1 singles to undefeated Luke Borders, but the Hornets won the rest of the singles matches in straight sets, so doubles weren’t needed.
Bryant Davis, Henry Walser, Aiden Moss, Owen Hammill and Luke Yang won singles matches for Salisbury.
Davis and Jarrell will be in action as a doubles team in the individual 4A State Championships that will be staged in Burlington this weekend.
