Spencer Jones is finally coming to the major leagues.

After Jasson Dominguez’s injury on Thursday, the New York Yankees have finally promoted the 6-foot-7 Jones, according to multiple reports.
They took their time to give Jones his MLB debut, but what’s clear is this: He wouldn’t be coming to the majors to just sit on the bench.
Jones is raking at Triple-A. He had 41 RBI through his first 33 games with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
The slugger also has 11 home runs and seven stolen bases in the early going this season.

He can play centerfield, and he can hit the ball a country mile.
Jones may swing and miss, but as long as he’s in the majors, he’s going to play. His development is too pivotal for the Yanks to let him sit on the bench.

Jones is a hugely divisive prospect.
On the one hand, he’s got some of the best power in the sport.

On the other hand, he has swung and missed way more at the minor league level than a similarly sized player, Aaron Judge, ever did.
But the Yankees have been pushed into this move. It’s up to Jones to prove he belongs.
